dining out with my sisters + my nephew

food musings, dining out, restaurants

with the little man + sis, Isabel, while waiting for our orders 🙂

It has been awhile since we have gone out with my sisters since they are both tied up at work. It has also been awhile since we tagged along my nephew Sean and the little man is simply missing him. It was a good thing we had a little get together last month. We had a really wonderful time. One of the stops we had to make when we decided to go to SM Marilao to watch the new Ironman flick {the little man and I are seeing it for the second time :)}, is Kenny Rogers Roasters for lunch. Choosing a place to dine in is really quite tricky. If you’d ask my son, he’d readily suggest that we go to Chowking, instead, while Sean is pointing us to another kid-friendly fast food, KFC. In the end, the grown ups prevail and we settled in a nice and comfy spot at Kenny Rogers.

We ordered food good enough for the little ones’ choosy appetite and the grown ups’ hungry stomach. We had oriental chicken, along with a bunch of side dishes, among them our favorite mac and cheese, and desserts. The nephew also opt for for a fruit shake, while we chose a pitcher of iced tea. The nephew was complaining about the chicken but finished the food on his plate anyway. 😀 Jared was preoccupied with other stuff as usual, but cannot resist his favorite chicken and noodle soup!

The food was gone after less than half hour and we even forgot to take photos of them. Hungry much! 😀

Nothing beats eating good food and eating them with the family. It sure is a perfect bonding activity. Our hearty meal was also accompanied by nice bass drum music, that made our dining experience all the more pleasant. I cannot wait for our next gastronomic adventure! 🙂

addicted to chowking

I do not know what it is about Chowking and their pancit canton that makes my little man so addicted. It is probably our most frequented fast food to date. Oh well, I cannot really complain much since compared to most of its contemporaries, I believe that Chowking serves the healthiest food, not to mention they have the widest variety in their menu. And do not forget the endearing local dessert, halo-halo, of course!

For some reason the little man only wants the Chowking pancit canton, so that is what we order for him every time we go there, and a big glass of pineapple juice. He’d agree to have a bit of chicken and rice, but will always want to eat pancit every single time! If only he’d eat the veggies that go with the pancit then I will be such a happy mum, but he’d ask me to remove each and every bit of them until all that’s left are the noodles before he starts eating!

After taking our afternoon nap {which happens really very seldom, I tell you!} earlier he requested that we go to Chowking again. We just went there last Sunday but the little one cannot seem to have enough of Chowking so I agreed. It is a convenient way to have dinner, anyway since I do not have to spend hours in the kitchen preparing food that he will probably not eat! So off we go.

We had a nice dinner, Jared got his usual order while I tried another one of their rice dishes. I also had kangkong with bagoong since I am craving for greens.

After dinner, we were off to the nearby mall for a quick errand. We bought Jared’s milk from the grocery and made a quick stop to browse through the standsandmounts dvd cabinets that was on sale at the nearby furniture and fixture shop.
