Lovin’ Love Desserts

desserts, foodie adventures, cakes

I had the pleasure of sampling the decadent and mouth-watering goodness of Love Desserts during the Mommy Bloggers Philippines Winter Wonderland Christmas Party {I know I should have written about the experience sooner but so many things got in the way!} and I must say I really love everything they prepared for us that day.

You can never really go wrong with this lovely dessert spread, complete with those equally lovely accoutrements, right? If I had a bigger tummy to fill, I am sure I’d have put each of their item on my dessert plate. But, alas, I also had to have other food items on my plate, like the main course!

Just so I can satisfy my sweet tooth, I sampled a couple of their sweet treats, including these cupcake-like goodies topped with strawberries and blueberries. I also got a slice of this custard cake with mango topping {which names and particular details escape me now!}

My absolute fave are the cream puffs and yes, I just had to get a couple of them {sorry to burst your bubble, but what’s photographed above is the cream puffs platter at the dessert buffet, not my dessert plate!}. Now that I think about it, I should have gotten a couple more of these gooey goodness!

The Love Desserts people are so generous they even prepared boxes of treats for the mums to take home that day, and I remember sharing the treats with the family with delight! ^_^

I shall be visiting their Pearl Drive branch this month and I shall tell you all about my gastronomic experience, meanwhile, let me just finish reading this article about el84.

Traditional Delicacies From Malolos

foodie finds, Malolos food crawl, breads

Not long ago, I came home with these goodies from the very first local event I have ever attended in my few years of blogging. I am certainly curious about these delicacies and admires the dedication of the people who made them and  who aims to preserve these delectable and historic Bulacan heritage cuisine. These food items, you see, were originally prepared by Maloleños back when our country is struggling to break free the Spanish regime. These local food treats were most probably the same items in our great heroes’ meals and menus.

The pastries, gurgurya and binanli, are instant hits at home, given that we all love breads and similar food items. They are perfect coffee companion and are great to serve during breakfast or snack time. I have yet to try the Atsarang Dampalit, though, and am wondering with which dish to pair it best. Do let me know if you have tips and ideas.

These age-old Bulacan goodies, by the way, are made by a local restaurant, Bistro Maloleño. Apart from these, they also have interesting items on their menu, including Emilio Aguinaldo’s favorite, nilagang manok sa puti with asparagus, and Pochero ni Plaridel, a favorite of one of my favorite heroes, Marcelo H. del Pilar. I have not been to this local resto, so I hope to visit the place one of these days. If you are intrigued as I am with these heritage dishes, I suggest you drop by the place when you find yourself wandering in the city.
