The Little Man’s Aristocrat Birthday Lunch

our birthday pancit of the day ๐Ÿ™‚

We went to Aristocrat in SM North ~ The Block for the little man’s birthday lunch. Although this restaurant is well-known for their barbecue, we decided to skip it that day since the little man is not yet eating that. We opted for their friend chicken, instead, coupled with their pancit and ordered a couple more dishes. For our serving of vegetables, we had an order of fresh lumpia and laing. To complete our meal, we also had a serving of their beef caldereta.

The little man was preoccupied with his new toys, a pair of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figure, which we gifted him for his birthday. He only had a couple of spoonfuls of his serving of pancit before he went on to play with his new toys. The grown ups, on the other hand, had a really satisfying meal. I simply love the fresh lumpia and its sauce!ย Laing is something I do not eat quite often, since I do not know how to prepare it, so I really enjoyed this dish. It was just delicious with the right amount of spice in it. The crowd favorite that afternoon, though, will have to be the beef caldereta. It was tasty and the beef is so tender. I wish I can make my own version of this dish, I’d probably cook it every week if I know how to prepare it! ๐Ÿ™‚

our new favorite, Caldereta ๐Ÿ™‚

The food is sumptuous ย and everyone is all smiles after our meal. The crew is very friendly and attentive and the ambiance is just excellent. The only thing that puts me off is when we had our leftovers wrapped to be taken home. We found out the crew failed to include the leftover caldereta in our bag. It was quite a disappointment since we only get to eat a little portion of the dish and the leftover would’ve been perfect for dinner at home later on that night. Oh well, I am sure the crew did not do it on purpose.

Birthday Lunch at Hap Chan

food musings, food adventures, dining out, restaurants

On my birthday we decided to have late lunch at Hap Chan, which is just a couple of minutes drive away from our place. ย We have not tried eating there before but have tasted a couple of their dishes through takeaways and we loved their food. So we thought it was only fitting that we eat there on my birthday.

We ordered only a couple of dishes since there are only 3 of us who will eat all the servings. We chose their birthday noodles {Php230}, 2 of their jumbo siopaos {Php90 each}, an order of their chicken feet {Php85}, as this is one of my fave dishes but have not eaten some for the longest time! We also ordered pineapple juice for the little man and a green mango shake for me {my fave, too!}. And did I mention we are also served a complementary pot of hot tea, which I absolutely enjoyed!

The little man loved their birthday noodles and was able to finish the serving I put on his plate. He did not like the pineapple juice much as it tastes different from the canned pineapple juice he was so accustomed to so he opted for his water bottle, instead. I particularly loved the chicken feet and thought they had a rather small serving and wished we ordered another one. ๐Ÿ˜€

It is our first time to dine here at Hap Chan and I must say it is quite a pleasant experience I wouldn’t mind doing again soon. I was so full that I was not able to finish the rest of my jumbo siopao. I love the ambiance of the restaurant and there was not much crowd when we got there so we did not have to wait to be seated. I have taken a few snaps after we finished our meal while my little man was playing. Thank heavens for one perfect birthday lunch! ^_^
