Cravings For Puto Bumbong Satisfied!

I am very fond of the Filipino kakanin and have been craving for puto bumbong for ages now. I was disappointed that I was not able to get some during the Christmas season when these are always available in front of local churches, a popular dessert to eat after hearing Christmas masses.

I thought I had to wait until December to taste the gooey goodness of this local delicacy, it is a good thing we managed to grab some at Via Mare during our visit to Kidzania in February. It was yummy as expected and I should’ve ordered more for takeaway. Via Mare added an interesting twist to the flavor we’ve grown to love by adding a generous amount of grated cheddar cheese to the purple treat, for only Php15. Aside from the regular cheese, you can also opt for a sprinkle of grated queso de bola as toppings, just add Php23.

I absolutely loved it and it is making me crave for some now that I am writing about it! 😀 What is your favorite local kakanin?

Lovin’ Love Desserts

I had the pleasure of sampling the decadent and mouth-watering goodness of Love Desserts during the Mommy Bloggers Philippines Winter Wonderland Christmas Party {I know I should have written about the experience sooner but so many things got in the way!} and I must say I really love everything they prepared for us that day.

You can never really go wrong with this lovely dessert spread, complete with those equally lovely accoutrements, right? If I had a bigger tummy to fill, I am sure I’d have put each of their item on my dessert plate. But, alas, I also had to have other food items on my plate, like the main course!

Just so I can satisfy my sweet tooth, I sampled a couple of their sweet treats, including these cupcake-like goodies topped with strawberries and blueberries. I also got a slice of this custard cake with mango topping {which names and particular details escape me now!}

My absolute fave are the cream puffs and yes, I just had to get a couple of them {sorry to burst your bubble, but what’s photographed above is the cream puffs platter at the dessert buffet, not my dessert plate!}. Now that I think about it, I should have gotten a couple more of these gooey goodness!

The Love Desserts people are so generous they even prepared boxes of treats for the mums to take home that day, and I remember sharing the treats with the family with delight! ^_^

I shall be visiting their Pearl Drive branch this month and I shall tell you all about my gastronomic experience, meanwhile, let me just finish reading this article about el84.
